They're easy to open and close, although I found their plastic textured coatings to be a bit difficult on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range. It has Wi-Fi, app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app, available for iOS and Android devices can let you control your refrigerator from anywhere in the world, and has numerous options for customization. It will also send notifications when the door is left unlocked, when the freezer or fridge needs to be defrosted, and when the filter requires a change.

It would be nice if GE PYE22PYNFS could offer Precise Fill the option that is available in a handful of GE refrigerators that allow users to choose the amount of cups they wish to pour out. The fridge displays a countdown timer to show you how much water remains but it's not as useful as Precise Fill.

The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is an impressive product. It's designed to look like it's a seamless part in your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a vegetable compartment that keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer, and two compressors to ensure maximum food preservation. The ice maker is one of the best we've ever tested and produces pyramid-shaped ice that is low in water consumption. This refrigerator is a great option for a single family or kitchenettes who want a built-in look and top-of-the-line food preservation.

This fridge was rated the best in our Refrigerators Test for several reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained stable at just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, never changing more than a fraction a degree--this is key in preventing freezer burn. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge is built with a standard French door design, and two rows of shelves that can be used to capture spills and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right can be folded down to give taller items more space. You'll also find a full-width deli drawer and an internal water dispenser.

One of the nice aspects of this refrigerator is that its ice maker is inside the freezer, which makes it easy to transfer ice into the fridge for use when required. The freezer has thoughtful design elements, for instance, sliding drawers to help you to organize the place of items. It comes with a large bin to store frozen food items, and a separate container for ice.

Although the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it doesn't improve the overall performance of the refrigerator. The refrigerator took longer to defrost food and chill it than the other fridges we tried. This is probably due to its larger capacity.

Another issue with the doors of this refrigerator. The handles that are sunken allow smaller people to open them from the bottom. However taller people have a hard time closing them without slamming them. It would have been better if they had a front-mounted handle.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a ideal choice for those who want to combine the advantages of a French-door refrigerator's aesthetics with a more efficient layout. Its capacity is higher than average for counter-depth models, and it cools evenly. It's also less expensive than the top counter depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, which makes it an attractive choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for a French door fridge that doesn't cost a fortune this Frigidaire is a solid option. It's a basic design that isn't as striking visually as other models but it does have enough features to make it a good option. Its most notable feature is the adjustable temperature drawer that helps keep food items such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water and ice maker dispenser.

Another great feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits over the two crisper bins. This drawer lets you direct some of the refrigerator's cooling power into this area, so that you can store foods which need extra attention. This feature is adjustable using an outside slider that is located inside the drawer. You can also use this to set a general cooling setting for the entire fridge, but I've noticed that adjusting the generic settings tends to produce better results than specific ones.

In my tests, I found that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent across various parts of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary significantly from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a pretty good performance however it doesn't be among the top in our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be connected with a smart thermostat to get more accurate readings on the internal temperature of your fridge.
